Simon heads up the Materials Handling Maintenance section of the Drax business. Handling millions of tonnes of material each year, whether it’s coal, biomass or the by-products of electricity generation such as ash, is critical to the operation of the power station.

With responsibility for ensuring that the equipment used for handling materials is reliable and responds when needed, Simon oversees maintenance schedules and has to meet challenging performance targets. Giving other parts of the business the reassurance they need to operate the power station and produce electricity is a key part of the job.
