Q.1 How do I apply for an advertised position?

If you are applying for an advertised vacancy, please send your email to the address quoted for that vacancy. If you wish to submit a speculative application please forward your CV and an Equal Opportunities form to our central email address, HR_Enquiries@draxpower.com. Please note these will only be held on file for a short period of time.

We expect an online application form to be available in early 2010, however you can apply as above or post your application/CV to HR Pay and Benefits Department, Drax Power Station, Selby, North Yorkshire, YO8 8PH.

Please note that if you have not had a response within four weeks of the closing date, you should assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.

Q.2 Where is Drax Power located?

The majority of our workforce is based at the power station which is located near Selby, North Yorkshire with nearby motorway links to the M62, M1 and A1. It is within commuting distance of major cities such as Leeds, York, Doncaster and Hull.

Q.3 Do you provide relocation assistance?

We have a relocation assistance policy which is applied where appropriate.

Q.4 What happens to my application after I have applied?

Once your application is received by the recruitment team it is processed after the closing date. If you have not had a response within four weeks of the closing date, you should assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.

Q.5 What security checks will I undergo?

Changes to the law to prevent illegal working require all new employees to produce an original form of identification. Guidance on this will be included in any formal offer of employment. Two satisfactory references will be required in addition to documentary evidence of academic and professional qualifications, and registration with professional bodies.

Q.6 Will I have to complete a medical?

Yes, all new employees of Drax Power undergo a company medical check prior to commencing employment. Your offer of employment will be conditional on satisfactory medical results.

Q.7 What will happen to the information I give on the Equal Opportunities form?

Q.12 Does Drax Power work with recruitment agencies?

Sometimes we place vacancies with recruitment agencies in addition to advertising. However, we do not accept approaches/CVs from recruitment agencies for roles which are advertised directly by Drax Power.
